The topics in detail:

- Aromatherapy in holidays:

2 options are possible in the choice of a set of essential oils to take on holiday to best resolve the small problems that can happen to us even in those moments:

a) We choose a different set of pure essential oils having complementary characteristics to act in many different cases

-> For this, a list of the top 7 essential oils was proposed by P. Franchomme (see reference: The aromatherapy exactly ...). These are the following essential oils (see the attached file, unfortunately only in french. Ref 1):

Choix huiles essentiellesChoix huiles essentielles (1.29 Mo)

See also the following reference: http://blog.aroma-zone.com/

b) selects a set of 5-8 possible incidents among the ennnuyeux and prepared 6 synergistic mixtures for care and relief by first emergency. Here, I think the 6 most annoying incident that may happen to us during the holidays. Essential oils recommended below synergies come from recipes offered among others by D. Baudoux (see References):

-> Indigestion, infectious diarrhea, internal or external parasites: Ajowan, noble chamomile, thyme satureioïde, Cinnamon bark, Girophlier, Tea Tree, Ledon Greenland, green myrtle + a grapefruit seed extract bottle (eg CitroBiotic® )

-> Mal transport, nausea: Peppermint, Basil Tropical Tangerine Essence

-> Cuts, skin infections, irritations, minor burn: ladanifère Cistus, Lavender true, Spike Lavender, Frankincense Frankincense, Geranium, CO2 extracted Calendula in vegetable oil Callophyla inophylle

-> Muscle pain following a stroke or dislocation: Lemon eucalyptus, Wintergreen lying, Peppermint, Laurel, Tarragon, Lavender true super Lavandin, Xanthoxylum, Italian Helichrysum in vegetable oil Callophyla inophylle

-> Insect Sting or other: Spike lavender, Tea Tree, Geranium, Lemon Eucalyptus

-> Urinary Infection / cistite: Rosewood, Winter savory, Ajowan, Tea Tree, Palmaros, Ledon Greenland, Cinnamon bark, Eucalyptus bracts (cryptone)

Whether in the case "a" or "b", a doctor should be consulted in case of persistence of the problem, or if too much pain.

Here is an article that falls straight from the website www.ideecadeauoriginal.com. (04/29/2016):

The essential oils in my first aid kit

Traveling or at home, see what essential oils have their place in your first aid kit for small and large sores.

The best essential oils
Among the benefits of essential oils, there is obviously their restorative and healing shares that give them a place in your emergency kit:

* Spike lavender is both an anti-venom allergy but powerful, that can be applied to a shot of snake, jellyfish, mosquito or wasp. It also relieves domestic burns and promotes healing.
* The Tea Tree anti-infective and antibacterial, disinfects wounds. Is also recommended to relieve canker sores, painful teeth, skin diseases and fungal infections.
* The bay laurel has many virtues, very complementary. It is both analgesic and antispasmodic, it relieves the difficult transit and diarrhea. This is a very good antibiotic and a potent antiviral, to avoid contagion of flu for example.

Essential oils to take on holiday
Essential oils also provide a suitable remedy to small problems that can catch a trip, such as sunburn, insect bites or sickness.

* Peppermint is very useful against nausea due among others to seasickness or car transport. It regulates an indigestion caused by a sudden change in diet.
* Rosemary has a tonic effect that will be popular with hikers and sportsmen. It relieves fatigue, cramps and heavy legs.
* Basil is formidable in the treatment of traveler's, a bacterial type of diarrhea.

Note that essential oils from citrus fruits including citrus peels are particularly photosensitizing and are not recommended in summer.

- Potential Interactions between plant extracts and cancer diseases: support possible care and reliefs on some side effects and why not hope for a cure.

A summary of what I have found in the literature concerning the action of certain plants or herbal aromatherapy application on certain cancer disease is currently under preparation.

If these different case studies you are interested and you have yourself useful information on these topics, your opinion matters to me and it'd be pleased to discuss with you.

In general (see ref. 9):

The anti-carcinogenic and anti-tumor compounds of can be explained in different ways:

- By the activation of glutathione transferase

- For induction of apoptosis (programmed cell death)

- By inhibition of protein isoprenylation (interference in operation of the cell cycle)

- By inhibiting angiogenesis (new blood vessel formations), which allows to slow down or stop the view tumor growth

- All tumor cell differentiation (recognition by the immune system)

In general, essential oils are used in the frame (see ref. 1):

- Stimulation of the immune system and improving the visibility of tumor cells

- The improvement of the mental tone

- The alleviation of pain

- The protection of the skin during treatment with radiotherapy (ex- Niaouli)

In some cases of cancer, cytotoxic action on tumor cells was also observed in the use of essential oils rich in following compounds:

- Sesquiterpene ketones C15 (ex- germacrone in Myrica gale)

- Benzaldehyde

- Sesquiterpene lactones (. Ex Ambrosine of Ambrosia maritima)

however there are some indications against serious when the use of certain essential oils, in particular during use of hormone-like compounds in the case of cancers sensitive to hormonal balance (dependent hormones, including for example the "estrogen-like" -> clary sage is to be avoided in breast cancer cases). The use of herbal medicine in the cancer must be followed in any case by a specialized oncologist.

Here is a file summarizing the activity of different plants in herbal treatments and aromatherapy resensées in prevention or in cases of cancer care (unfortunately only in french, see ref 9 and 10.)

Among the many plants of all kinds that can relieve, support the healing process or see stop the progression of cancer, a plant could well be a "miracle" solution. This is the "cat's claw" or Uncaria tomentosa (Latin: see ref 10 and www.homeodel.com site.). In fact, this plant has properties that summarizes most of the effects to help stop the progression of cancer (anti-inflammatory, immunostimulant, antioxidant, ...). Cases progression stopped in the case of cancer of the pleura (mesothelioma, very aggressive cancer) using this plant were defined. This plant can be found at herbalists, pharmacists or druggists counter. It is found in the form of chips that root decoction is taken into a cup 1 to 2 times per day (1 - 25 g / 250 ml). The taste is pleasant, slightly to very bitter (depending on dosage) and recall a little soft wood of our childhood (for those of my generation ;-)). See also footnote 11.

However, like any medicine, this plant (Cat's Claw) also has side effects that can be serious in some cases and requires certain precautions in the case of employment:

- Do not use by pregnant women

- Generates a slight contraceptive effect.

- May interfere during treatment using immunosuppressants, anticoagulants or other drugs that may contribute to kidney overload (eg treatment of lupus erythematosus, and see www.homeodel.com http://www.passeportsante.net/fr. /Solutions/PlantesSupplements/Fiche.aspx?doc=griffe_chat_ps)

- Do not use by people who have undergone organ transplants, including breast implants (accentuates the rejection effect)

-> For more information on precautions, cf. References 9, 10, http://www.passeportsante.net/fr/Solutions/PlantesSupplements/Fiche.aspx?doc=griffe_chat_ps, www.homeodel.com and consult your doctor

- When your dog is scratching a few times until blood: analysis of some cases and treatments used successfully:

When your dog starts scratching furiously, to the point that he begins to lose his hair or even to create open wounds, there may be several origins to the problem, some medical, some psychological. I am not able to make an exhaustive list, but the following main options are described in the literature:

(Under construction)

A solution that seems to have worked for a case:

The use of grapefruit seed extract (in glycerine to approx. 20 - 40%) by absorption through animal feed (10 - 15 drops 1 - 3x daily). After a few days, the hair becomes shiny and irritations subside.

- In the case of the cat: Additional information given by Nali (24.03.2010)

"I would like to confirm the opinion of a veterinarian specializing in aromatherapy and the use of essential oils phenols and ketones be avoided in cats and this in all forms of application

The cat, unlike the dog does not have the enzyme glucuronyl transferase and can remove toxins such as carvacrol, thymol, eugenol

Ketones can be very quickly in the cat a neurotoxic effect as in the case of using salvia officinalis and mentha pulegium - the use of both oils NT +, AB + can have very serious consequences

Using phenols and ketones for cats is approached the use was made with an anti chip for dogs containing permethrin without problem for dogs but lethal to cats

It is best to not put anything on a tick and remove it with a hook found in pharmacies or if we did not do with forceps without putting anything above previously disinfected after.
Preventively - the product used must be an anti mite, but is adapted to cats that's really important

I quote:

"Remove the tick immediately.

Important: If you have an injury to fingers or you gnaw your nails, put a rubber glove (end) before removing the tick on you, your cat or your dog. Why? the blood in the belly of the tick should not touch your injury. It may indeed happen that inexperienced person / e pierces the belly of the tick. Wash your hands after contact with a tick.

No ether or other product because the anesthetized tick may regurgitate immediately and increase the risk of infection.
Take fine forceps or tweezers (blunt).
Pinch the tick at its head (not the stomach) as close to the skin
Pull right without making rotational movements until the tick detaches which can take 60 seconds. Do not let go.

After extraction, a good disinfection is required. "

- A very interesting mint for muscle pain (12.10.2012)

It's been a few months that I discovered in the garden of my aunt a beautiful plant with purple stems with leaves arranged alternating manner very similar to that of our peppermints and a lovely dark green. The square bar is very typical of Lamiaceae. However, in froisant leaves, the smell seems very rich esther, closer super lavender as peppermint. The essential oil obtained by steam distillation has indeed observe the strong presence of linalyl acetate (nearly 50%) explaining the sweet smelling flower that characterizes this oil. Such a high content esther also led me very quickly to use this essential oil for preparations used for muscle relaxation.

It was only after the analysis of its flower that we were finally able to identify the species of this plant: This is actually a water mint (Mentha aquatica), relatively common in our wetlands (see Photo). A big thank you to Jacques Darbellay for its support in this process.

water mint from the garden

However, we also note with surprise that this oil does not, at first sight, menthol or menthone, which does not correspond to what is usually observed for the various mints of our regions . Here also the compositions of the aquatic mint oil that we collected to date (2010, 2011):

(Monoterpenes: beta-pinene (1.9%), alpha-pinene (1.4%); terpene oxide 1,8-cineol (9.6%); Monoterpènol: linalool (23.3%), cis-beta-terpineol (0.1%), geraniol (0.3%); Esthers: linalylacetate (49.9%), géranylacetate (0.7%); Sesquiterpenes Caryophyllene (2.4%), germacrene D (0.5%); Sesquiterpènol:.. elemol (4.0%))

- Anti-aging creams to the reach of any budget: house production based on natural compounds (19/11/2013):

A natural anti-aging effect of the latest technology is now relatively easy to do mainly with the fact that most components are now easier to find on the internet market with serious suppliers in natural and cosmetic products (Aroma-Zone (France) and Makingcosmetics (USA)) who sell their raw materials at all at reasonable prices. You do eventually need a good moisturizer (see recipe N ° 30) of glycerin edelweiss extract (3% to put in your cream), the Coenzyme Q10 (3% to put in your cream) , hyaluronic acid (0.3% to put in your cream) and voila. Do not forget to add a bit of grapefruit seed extract to keep your keep your cream and some essential oils (lavender, rosewood, etc ...) to give it its flavor (1% in your cream will be enough). For more details, feel free to contact me. Care of yourself;)

PS: To be the best of the best anti-aging technology, you could use a bit of PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone), a powerful antioxidant produced by biotechnological processes and that seems to promote the regeneration of cellular mitochondria. This component is in the form of trisodium salt in food compléemnts, but I have not found as raw material for cosmetics "home" :)

- Aromatherapy in the case of cancer: the case of the mesothelium (06.04.2017)

The use of essential oils in cancer cases is currently recommended in most cases to relieve patients of certain side effects related to treatments such as muscle pain (Lying Gaulthérie, Lavender officinale, Lavandin super, etc ...) The fluidification of the mucus (Eucalyptus radié or globulus, ...), burning sensations in case of radiotherapy (Lavender officinale, Neuroli, ...). However, in all cases, the oncologist's doctor following the patient as well as a therapist specializing in aromatherapy must be involved in the treatment to avoid potential contraindications.
